Wendy Bilen


Wendy Bilen is a writer of creative nonfiction, including the biography-memoir Finding Josie. Her essays and articles have appeared in several magazines, journals, and newspapers, including the Washington Post, Relief, and Women in Higher Education. In 2008, she started a spoken word event called Speakin’ It Real, which has launched talent such as the popular D.C. poet Charity Blackwell. Bilen is completing a biography of Horatio Gates Spafford Jr., the man behind the hymn “It Is Well with My Soul.” She currently teaches at the women’s college of Trinity Washington University in the District of Columbia.
