Walter Wangerin
Walter Wangerin, Jr., is the author of short stories, essays, children’s books, plays, and over thirty novels. The bulk of his writing consists of religious books, giving theological guidance on subjects such as marriage, meditation, parenting, and grieving. His most recent books include Naomi and Her Daughters and Letters from the Land of Cancer, which received an award of merit from the 2011 Christianity Today Book Awards. His fable, The Book of the Dun Cow, won the National Book Award for science fiction in 1980. Since 1991, Wangerin has been a professor at Valparaiso University, where he teaches literature, theology, and creative writing, and serves as writer in residence.
