Richard Michelson
Richard Michelson is a poet and children's book author. He has received numerous awards for his children's books, including the Patterson Prize and the Teachers' Choice Award. Michelson's book As Good As Anybody was a National Jewish Book Award finalist, a Massachusetts Book Award finalist, and was the recipient of the Skipping Stones Multicultural Award. His book Across the Alley was also a National Jewish Book Award finalist. Michelson’s other works include Busing Brewster, A Is for Abraham, Tuttle’s Red Barn, Happy Feet, Too Young for Yiddish, and Grandpa’s Gamble. His most recent book, Lipman Pike: America’s First Home Run King, tells the story of a little-known Jewish baseball superstar. In addition to being a writer, Michelson is the curator of exhibitions at the National Yiddish Book Center and the owner of R. Michelson Galleries in Northampton, Massachusetts.
