Lisa Russ Spaar
Lisa Russ Spaar’s poetry has appeared in many national and international literary journals, including Image, Kenyon Review, Paris Review, Ploughshares, Poetry, and Virginia Quarterly Review. Her poetry collections include Blue Venus, Glass Town, and Satin Cash. Spaar's most recent collection, Vanitas, Rough, will be published this year. In addition to writing her own collections, Spaar has edited two books of poetry: All That Mighty Heart: London Poems and Acquainted with the Night: Insomnia Poems. She received a Guggenheim Fellowship for Poetry in 2009 and the Library of Virginia Prize in 2010. Spaar directs the Program in Poetry Writing at the University of Virginia, where she is Professor of English, an advising fellow, and the winner of an all-university teaching award.
