Kevin Brockmeier

Kevin Brockmeier writes fantasy and literary fiction. His short stories have appeared in many publications, including The New Yorker, Georgia Review, Oxford American, Best American Short Stories, and The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror. Brockmeier has published two collections of stories, Things That Fall from the Sky and The View from the Seventh Layer. His novels include History of the Dead, The Truth About Celia, and most recently, The Illumination. Brockmeier’s work has been translated into seventeen languages, and he has received the Borders Original Voices Award, three O. Henry Awards (one, a first prize), the PEN USA Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and an NEA grant. Brockmeier was recently named one of Granta magazine's Best Young American Novelists. He lives in Little Rock, Arkansas.
