Karen Coats is a professor of English at Illinois State University and the author of The Bloomsbury Introduction to Children’s and Young Adult Literature and Looking Glasses and Neverlands: Lacan, Desire, and Subjectivity in Children’s Literature. She has also coedited several books and written over 30 scholarly articles on the intersections of children’s literature and critical and cognitive literary theory.
