Judith Shulevitz
Judith Shulevitz is a literary critic, the founding culture editor of Slate.com, the deputy editor of New York Magazine, and a columnist for the New York Times Book Review. Her articles have appeared in many periodicals, including the New Yorker and New Republic. Shulevitz’s most recent book, The Sabbath World: Glimpses of a Different Order of Time, details how she came to see Shabbat as an important part of her week. She says she decided to write the book because of her initial ambivalence about observing a weekly day of rest. Shulevitz lives in New York City.
