Diane Glancy is a novelist, poet, playwright, essayist, and educator. Glancy has explored Native American history—as well as her own Cherokee heritage—through her novels Pushing the Bear: A Novel of the Trail of Tears and Stone Heart: A Novel of Sacajawea. Glancy won the Juniper Prize in 2003 for a collection of poems titled Primer of the Obsolete.
