David Diaz

David Diaz has been an illustrator for more than twenty-five years and has illustrated more than thirty books for children, including, most recently, Me, Frida. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Caldecott Medal for Smoky Night by Eve Bunting. Diaz also illustrated The Wanderer by Sharon Creech, which won the Newbery Honor. Through his work, Diaz strives to make an impact on his readers as he seeks to illustrate books that offer hope to young people. In addition to illustrating literary works, Diaz is a graphic designer, painter, and accomplished ceramic artist. He lives in Carlsbad, California.
