Rewrite Radio features recordings from the Festival of Faith & Writing archives paired with fresh conversations about some of your favorite authors. In our first year we’ve talked to George Saunders about Tobias Wolff’s influence on his work, then listened back to their on stage conversation at the 2016 Festival. Jen Hatmaker remembered back to the first time she met Shauna Niequist when they were both new writers, before we listened to a recording of the time a writing student at Calvin interviewed Shauna at the Festival. Mallory Ortberg geeked out about meeting her online pal Saladin Ahmed in real life for the first time when they were both featured speakers at the Festival, then we heard tape of Saladin’s lecture on fantasy and the Muslim American imagination. And that’s just three of the twenty-plus episodes of Rewrite Radio now available.

As we head into our second year of production, we’re excited to share the Festival of Faith & Writing archives with more readers and writers around the world and we need your help.

One of the most reliable ways to reach new podcast audiences is through reviews—they give listeners an opportunity to get to know the show, and help iTunes categorize and promote our podcast.

Now through December 31, 2017, we’re running a Review Rewrite Radio contest. The prize? A free registration to the 2018 Festival of Faith & Writing.

How do I enter?

STEP ONE: Leave us a review on iTunes! If you haven’t heard any Rewrite Radio episodes recently, we highly recommend checking out a few first. You might start with the newly minted Man Booker Prize winner: #6: George Saunders 2016, or one of our very first Festival speakers, #10: Frederick Buechner 1992, or an amazing Russian poet you might not know yet but will be glad once you do, #21: Irina Ratushinskaya 1998.

STEP TWO: Send it our way! Once you’ve written your review, send us a link or screenshot so we can be in touch with you if your review wins. Email your review to and put Review Rewrite Radio in the subject line.

STEP THREE: Vote on other reviews! Browse through feedback from other listeners and rate the ones you find most helpful.

STEP FOUR: Garner support! Share your review and encourage others to vote.

The review rated most helpful by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, December 31, 2017 will be the winner. We’ll contact the winner via email in early January, 2018.

Do I have to leave a positive review?
Nope! Any review is eligible for the contest. We welcome all reviews, and we’re always looking for ways to improve our podcast.

Do I have to review it on iTunes?
While Rewrite Radio is available wherever you find your podcasts, the iTunes app is the primary platform for podcast reviews. That’s also where listeners can vote for the helpfulness of reviews, the mechanism that allows us all of our listeners choose the winner.

What if I’ve already reviewed Rewrite Radio?
Great! You can still enter by emailing us a screenshot of your review so that we can contact you if you win.

Can I do this only on a desktop?
You can write a review on mobile, but you can only vote for the most helpful reviews on the iTunes desktop app. iTunes must approve reviews, so don’t worry if your review takes a day or so to appear.

What if there is a tie?
In the case of a tie, we will present the finalist reviews (without personal identifying information) to a panel of Festival faculty, staff, and volunteers, who will determine the winner.

What if I’m already registered for the 2018 Festival and then win this contest?
No worries! We can refund your registration fee if you win #ReviewRewriteRadio.
